At 130' deep and perpetually cold, the Brown Brothers Tug is not a dive for everyone. It is covered in Lake Erie silt, nets, a few ling cod, and the ever-present zebra and quaga mussels.
This is a nice relaxing dive that will not require a huge amount of bottom time to see the majority of in decent detail. Nets have recently been cut down at the stern, reducing entanglement hazzards to divers but not entirely to the fish. Nets covering the mid-section seal off areas you could otherwise peer into, but penetration would not be possible even without the nets due to the amount of silt accumulation inside.

The hull structure is in good shape, and equipment and details provide plenty to look at. The wheel lies on its side near the stern on the starboard side, and is definitely one of the highlights of this enjoyable wreck.
