A Little History
The destroyer escort was launched Nov.14 1959 at Halifax Shipyards. Primarily an anti submarine ship, it was also equipped for operations during nuclear confrontations. Retired after twisting it's keel. It was purchased for a dollar by the Artificial Reef Society or British Columbia. They prepared the vessel for diving by removing pollutants and cutting access holes through out. This enhances diver saftey by providing many points to exit the shipwreck. Only qualified wreck or cave divers should ever enter a shipwreck.
