The Proposed Southwest Underwater Preserve is part of a series of Marine Parks in Michigan. Having coastline on three of the five Great Lakes it is nice to see that the state has done an excellent job at protecting wreck sites. These marine parks cover an area nearly as large as the state of Delaware. The parks were created in 1980. Wreck stripping can lead to confiscation, (cars and boats included) fines, and up to 2 years in jail ! The only things to take are pictures while scuba diving these waters
